Raised in Katy, Texas, Dr. Kiran Makhnejia graduated from Seven Lakes High School at the top of her class. Encouraged by her uncle, she enjoyed exploring the sciences and fine arts from a young age. Her interests in these subjects led her to discover her passion for dentistry while attending The University of Texas at Austin, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with high honors. While serving on a mission to Nicaragua, Dr. Makhnejia witnessed the impact of dentistry in rural communities with no access to care. Seeing the improvements in the lives of the Nicaraguans became the spark that set off her career. She went on to complete her Doctorate in Dental Surgery at The University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston. During these years, she actively participated in research, clinical humanities, and received extensive training in digital and cosmetic dentistry. She is certified in dental laser and nitrous oxide sedation.
Dr. Makhnejia sees dentistry as a blend of the sciences and the arts – of rationale and inventiveness. She finds fulfillment in restoring smiles and in tailoring her care to each patient’s needs. In her free time, Dr. Makhnejia enjoys oil painting, listening to podcasts and practicing yoga. As a self-proclaimed foodie, she loves to travel the world exploring and chasing different cuisines.
